A Month of Sundays

a play by Bob Larbey
Directed by June Brogdale

Cooper and Aylott are two elderly gentlemen who are spending their declining years in a rest home in the south of England.

Together they face the challenges posed by the ageing process - the forgetfulness and the physical deterioration. Cooper also has to endure monthly visits from his daughter, Julia, and her henpecked husband, Peter.

In such restrictive circumstances, it is the little things that make life for the two old friends more bearable, such as trying to recall the name of the eleventh man in an old cricket team. We also see Cooper developing friendships with the cleaner, Mrs Baker, and with Nurse Wilson.

In A Month of Sundays Bob Larbey treats the subject of growing old not only with sensitivity, but also with a great deal of gentle humour.
