Take My Husbands Please

a play by Terry Harper
Directed by Keith Povey

The madcap morning of India Kershaw, best selling novelist, who on her return from holiday, taken to aid recovery from her second divorce, is confronted in turn by both her ex-husbands, their respective wives (one of whom tries to strangle India). Then her hypochondriac literary agent, Celeste Conway arrives to say she has fallen madly in love. It turns out to be with one of the ex-husbands, which further complicates life. An eccentric screen writer who is adapting one of India`s novels appears which accentuates the general mayhem into which the morning is deteriorating. How India, with the help of her Aunt Hannah, survives intact until lunchtime makes for a fast paced farcical comedy.
